COLLABORATION

In 1956, McLean – the father of container freight – converts a World War II ship, from a warship to a tanker and container carrier, sailing from New York to the Port of Houston. No one would have thought that the 58 35-foot boxes would become the very item leveraging the great revolution of maritime transport.

In order to secure the successful completion of each transport, all contracts and documents circulate among the more than twenty functions that are all part of a freight project: Inquiry, booking, vehicle dispatch, container pick-up, stock yard, port clearance, factory loading, port arrival, customs, shipment at the departure port, sea voyage, customs liquidation at the destination port, dredging at the destination port, and the final customer receipt. It is a cumbersome process that brings great inconvenience. As a result, people engaged in logistics, have never stopped exploring more efficient ways to communicate, – from the early postal data, fax, EDI data exchange, to today´s email correspondence and IM communication. Elane knows the importance of efficient collaboration between the various companies in the logistics chain, and is committed to keep up with evolving technologies and user demand, including facilitating effective communication between traditional industry and emerging science and technology, providing new collaborative ways for all parties in the logistics chain.
